Today we look at the latest developments in a statewide push to regulate recreational marijuana. Activist group Regulate Florida announced yesterday that it will be ending its campaign to make cannabis completely legal for adults over 21, citing a lack of petition signatures and funding needed to get the issue on the 2016 ballot. Regulate Florida’s chairman Michael Minardi tells Radioactivity today that the group will reconvene next year with an aim of getting a new amendment petition going for the 2018 ballot. Regulate’s campaign was one of two cannabis-related constitutional amendment campaigns;the other, which is backed by attorney John Morgan’s United for Care group, is calling for legal medical marijuana.
