On Radioactivity Friday we have two childcare workers who are part of the local effort to push for a living wage for childcare workers and other low-wage employees. Our guests Nadaije Paul Jajoute and Lianne Flakes say that while they love their jobs as daycare workers, current wages often just barely cover their living expenses, if at all. On April 14, the Fight for 15 movement will organize a nationwide strike and protests of McDonalds’ across the country, including a protest at a yet to be disclosed McDonald’s location here in Tampa.
