Opening at Stageworks Theatre on July 11th through July 21st, Powerstories Theatre is proud to present “Irena’s Vow” as the next show in its 24th season themed, Critical Social Issues Take Center Stage… Anti-Semitism.
“Irena’s Vow,” a powerful and poignant play, sheds light on a dark chapter of history—the Holocaust. Set in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II, the play tells the true story of Irena Gut Opdyke, a courageous young Polish woman who risked her life to save Jewish lives. Her unwavering commitment to humanity and defiance against hatred resonate deeply in today’s world.
Powerstories is partnering with the Tampa JCCs & Federation to amplify the impact of this production. As part of their commitment to fostering dialogue and understanding, they will exhibit the top nine works of Hillsborough County youth artists in the “Shine a Light on Antisemitism Youth Art Contest.” These young artists express their perspectives on combating prejudice, promoting tolerance, and standing up against discrimination.
“Irena’s Vow” features a special VIP Opening Night Reception from 630pm to 7:30 pm. Limited to 50 VIP ticket purchases, this will include a catered reception and the play on July 11th, Opening Night.
