The unanswered questions continue……
The connections get more numerous and still the House Intelligence Committee stalls. But the ACA and PP have survived for another day, and as the Australians would say, “Good on the Women’s Hockey Team.” And on the men’s hockey team for supporting them. The women’s demands for parity were primarily met, and they will represent the United States against Canada Friday. But the environment comes under assault and Trump is hell bent for tax cuts. We will leave those issues for a later shows.
Through Women’s Eyes…
This week we will focus on the terrific Sarasota Film Festival that is opening Friday, particularly a festival within the festival. Through Women’s Eyes is Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 at the Regal Hollywood 20 in Sarasota. Check it out here . ANN FRIESE, Artistic Director, Thru Women’s Eyes will talk about the festival and some of the films.
We will also talk about with LILLY RIVLIN, Director of a splendid documentary which will be shown in the festival, Heather Booth: Changing the World. We will talk about “Heather Booth – probably the most important person you have never heard of.” The events and activities of her life essentially mirror the progressive history of rights- civil, women’s, immigration of the last 50 years. Truly a remarkable woman. She and Lilly are both coming to the festival and will be available for a Q & A after the film. The film will be shown Saturday, April 1 at 3:15 PM.
We will give a brief rundown on some of the other films in the Sarasota Film Festival with an emphasis on women. The festival opens Friday, March 31 and runs through Sunday, April 9 at the Regal Hollywood 20 in Sarasota.
