Pamela Robinson and Scott Elliott organized a fantastic Juneteenth here at WMNF, and so many people came out to celebrate with us. Both the movie screening and Poetry Is‘s Poetry Open Mic were packed, and the poetry and singing was amazing.
Thanks to all of the volunteers and staff who helped put this on, and a special shout out too to Dennis Stone and the Tied-Dyed Tuesday crew who had folks in Studio 2 announcing and being djs. We will put the sound up from that next week.
We love our community so much, and are thrilled that you came to the station that you built to celebrate this vital holiday, and the vital African American culture of our area and our country.
