WMNF supports a woman’s right to have access to safe and legal abortion. The recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade strips women of their full citizenship and the fundamental right to bodily autonomy.
A large majority of Americans support Roe v. Wade and the underlying right to privacy. For the Supreme Court to ignore over a half-century of legal precedent and defy the will of the American people is devastating to our democracy (and to the millions of women and families who will be directly impacted by this radical ruling).
Here in Florida, abortions are now illegal after only 15 weeks — making no exception in cases of incest or rape.
We share the fear, heartache, and anger many of you feel right now, but this is the time to turn that anger into action. We encourage our listeners to get involved, to register and vote in every upcoming election, and to support the organizations working to protect the family planning and privacy rights of every United States citizen.
