Protesters outside Tampa Chamber meeting ask “Prosperity for Whom?”

Thursday the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual meeting at the Tampa Convention Center.

During the meeting the Chamber tweeted that a downtown vision unveiled yesterday by the owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning would create 6,700 jobs.

But outside, a half-dozen protesters held signs and chanted that the promised prosperity would not trickle down to every day residents of Tampa.

WMNF News interviewed Samantha Bowden, a graduate student at the University of South Florida and helped organize the “Prosperity for Whom?” rally.
