MidPoint for Thursday, Sept. 21 – Kathy Castor on GOP Senate bill, National Weather Service issues and FEA lawsuit

Share

On today’s program, we spoke with Joanne McCall, president of the Florida Education Association, about a recent lawsuit the union filed against the state dept. of Education and its 67 school boards. The FEA is challenging as discriminatory part of a 2015 law that ties teacher bonuses to their college entrance exam scores.

We spoke with Dan Sobien, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service and the union head of the National Weather Service Employees Organization, (NWSEO) about the huge loss of personnel at NWS offices throughout the country.

And we chatted with Hillsborough County Democratic Representative Kathy Castor on Senate Republicans latest attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
