Market Speaks for Electric Vehicles (EVs)

Share

On today’s Sustainable Living Show we talked about Electric Vehicles. The editor for EV World on-line magazine, Bill Moore, joined the show. EV World started in 1998 with an objective to provide a human face to the topic of sustainable transportation, with a focus on people and policy, as well as technology.  It has 15,000-20,000 visitors daily from around the world.

Ed Golly, a member of our local Sierra Club Chapter and owner of a Tesla S60, also joined the show. Ed charges his EV with his home solar power system and still creates excess clean solar energy. Our third guest is a Senior Organizing Representative with the St Pete Sierra Club Chapter; Phil Compton is involved with the Florida Clean Air Campaign and right now is working on getting Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) to purchase some electric buses.

Also, he’s working with students at USF to replace their fossil fuel buses with electric buses. We talked about the amazing amount of pre-orders for the Tesla 3; the efficiency of electric over any other type of propulsion engine; power and pollution reduction of electric; and how we can join efforts to covert our area mass transit systems to electric. www.evworld.com/index.cfm www.sierraclub.org/florida/tampa-bay
