Local Sustainable Events

On today’s WMNF 88.5 FM Sustainable Living program we talked about two events involving sustainable food and local students taking place in the next couple of weeks.
The Temple Terrace Farm 2 School is teaming up with the Temple Terrace Arts Council and Greco Middle School culinary and agriculture students to help raise funds for the culinary program at this year’s Temple Terrace Arts and Craft Festival. Elizabeth Leib, with Greco Middle School, joined the show to talk about this event.
Sustany’s 8th Annual Sustainable Buzz will be happening at River Walk Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa on November 5. For this year’s Buzz, fifth graders have teamed up with local chefs to study cooking with sustainable ingredients (crickets!) and we had Stu Stubbs join us to talk about this student learning project at Trinity School for Children in Tampa. For the remainder of the show we continued talking about the Sustany Foundation, the Buzz, and sustainable business sense, with director for Sustany, Jennifer Silva. Also a volunteer for Sustany with expertise in Sustainability in Business, Janet Hall joined the show.
