The future of legalized and medical pot in the Trump/Sessions administration

Share

While several more states legalized marijuana outright last month, the future of the industry is uncertain with the election of Donald Trump, and especially his selection of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions to serve as his Attorney General.

Sessions has made it clear in the past that he’s not a fan of legalizing pot, and advocates remain unsure if they’ll be any federal interference in the states that have legalized the herb.

Meanwhile in Florida, legislators are expected to begin crafting regulations early next year on medical marijuana, now that Sunshine State voters have made this the law of the land.

Joining us to talk about that were Robert J. Capecchi, Director of Federal Policies with the Marijuana Policy Project, and Chris Cano with the Central Florida office of NORML.
