The Sound Safari takes you on a musical journey around the world stopping at various cultural hubs know for their rich musical traditions such Haiti, Jamaica, Brazil, the Cape Verde Islands, Mali, the Congo and India.
Every Saturday Morning we get the day going with artists such as Oumou Sangare, Salif Keita, The Mahotella Queens, Lura, Diblo Dibala, Rachid Taha, Marisa Monte, Eva María Ayllón, Tabou Combo, Kassav, Anouska Shankar and more. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy the journey.
John Dubrule has been a programmer at WMNF starting in 1980. His first program was called Radical Noise and featured punk and new wave music. The original Sound Safari show aired from 1988 to 2007. During that time John and his then wife Pam Wiener were involved in bringing many performers to the Tampa Bay area, through their not-for-profit organization, The Nairobi Night Club. John is a partner in an immigration law firm where he is happy to help people from around the world find the American Dream.
