White House announces American Business Act on Climate Pledge

Monday the White House announced that thirteen of the largest American companies are joining the Obama administration to pledge to cut greenhouse gasses and fight climate disruption; it’s called the American Business Act on Climate Pledge.

The companies represent $1.3 trillion in annual revenue.

Brian Deese, senior advisor to the president, spoke in a conference call with reporters:

One company, the aluminum giant Alcoa, has plans outlined by their chief sustainability officer, Kevin McKnight:

Another company is Microsoft. This is their chief environmental strategist Rob Bernard:
