Black Lives Matter protesters ejected from Donald Trump rally in Tampa

Today on Radioactivity, we hear from Donald Trump supporters and protesters from Monday’s rally in downtown Tampa. It was the latest stop in on a campaign trail that has recently been marked with violent skirmishes between attendees, leading to the cancellation of one rally in Chicago due to safety concerns. We talk with two Trump backers about why they are backing the controversial GOP front-runner as well as voices from the opposition on  how their presence was received there. We also speak with two Black Live Matters activists, Chris Wilson and Donna Davis, on what they experienced as they were ejected from the rally for disrupting Trump’s speech inside of the convention center.

I shared a comment about supporting Bernie Sanders on the Black Live Matter – Tampa FB page (because the movement overall is not endorsing any of the candidates) and was received with harshness. Donna Davis announced herself and suggested I research white supremacy. I thought it was a stupid response and I said so. All I wanted to do was share some facts about our current candidates. Bottom line, I want to know if I had used a young black womans picture on my profile and said “We” instead of “You”, would she have been softer and more open to a conversation?

I have empathy for the movement but I feel some of them are mostly racist. I agree that black/brown people have some payback due to them but they won’t move forward if they keep living in the past. You want us to tell you what we can do for you because you can not figure out what you need? Sorry but I am flustered by this group. I want justice and equality for all people but they will not win over supporters in the way they are moving.
Are they trying to start an uprising that will only lead to more suffering for all? Even though Bernie doesn’t address certain races by name, his position benefits all of us.
