Backyard Chickens

Share

On today’s Sustainable Living program we spent the hour talking about how we can produce our own organic, sustainably raised eggs in our backyards. Our very special guest today was Kenny Coogan, a certified bird trainer and local teacher with a BS in Animal Behavior. He also writes about his animal experiences and writes monthly about chicken issues in The Back Yard Poultry Magazine. Also, Dacia Mitchell, owner of the Main Street Homestead, an urban farm store, brought her wealth of knowledge to the show. Kenny brought a couple of his prize chickens to the studio, which added some interesting sound effects.
