A Cross-Country Trip In A Solar Car

Share

Our guest in this segment is Josh Holton, son of long time WMNF programmer Jeannie Holton. Josh is a recent graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans and recently completed a cross-country trip as a crew person for a car entirely powered by solar energy. Josh traveled from Florida to the Arctic Circle.

The solar car traveled 22,200 miles around North America, starting in Buffalo NY, crossed the arctic circle, proceeded through California, the southwest, and picked up Josh as it passed through Tampa on May 12, 2009. The car then returned to the Arctic Circle, doubling the prior world distance record.
