Maya Angelou once said, “Won’t it be wonderful when black history and native American history and Jewish history and all of U.S. history is taught from one book. Just U.S. history“. In addition to Angelou’s remarks, I am pretty sure that it’s also safe to say that Angelou’s words are also inclusive of the study of women history.
March is known as Women’s History Month. The purpose of Women’s History Month is to celebrate the achievements and contributions made by women in our society. Women’s History Month has been observed in the United States 1987.
On Morning Energy, we are going to spend time exploring how Women’s History Month began. During our musical journey and discussion, we will also be exploring other topics such as: (1) various ideologies concerning women’s role in society throughout the centuries, (2) important contributions that women have made in our society and (3) some of the 21st century’s most influential women in the world.
