On Monday’s WMNF 88.5 FM Sustainable Living Program we talked about community gardens with our guests Kitty Wallace of Tampa Heights Community Garden and one of the founders of the Bay Area’s Coalition of Community Gardens; Jennifer Grebenschikoff, VISTA (Village Institute for Sustainable Technologies & Agriculture) Community Garden Project in Carrollwood Village; and Karen Elizabeth, Plant City Commons Community Garden. It turned out to be a great discussion about these three diverse garden projects that are all involved with growing more than just food—they are growing Community! All of these community gardens have events coming up in the next couple of weeks and I’m hoping you’ll get involved. Also, if you’re already involved with a local community garden please consider joining the Coalition of Community Gardens.
