Amid the vitriolic rhetoric targeted at potential refugees coming to the U.S., a new group has just formed in Tampa Bay to help refugees get basic services and adjust to life in a new country.
WMNF News interviewed Dezeray Lyn, a community organizer in Tampa and is working on the project that’s called Love Has No Borders – Refugees Welcome Here.
On their Facebook event page the group Tampa Light Brigade notes that they will have an action tonight in support of refugees. At 6:00 p.m. on the Highway 301 overpass over I-4 east of Tampa, they’ll shine the message “asylum for refugees” on lit up signs for motorists to see.

Irony that people want to help refugees because its the “political correct” thing to do. but not help the people that are currently here & need the help.
She actually also works w the local group I help with from time to time. Food not bombs. We do a meal in a park once a week for the homeless. And I know her from the antiGMO movement here in town. So you honestly have no clue what you are saying. 🙂
Think about what you just said. People that are homeless and get a meal in the park. While the Middle East & South America dumps its problems into our laps and expect us to fix them. The immigrants from Mexico and Syria are receiving better accommodations than our homeless population. Do you not see a problem with this? Enough, people are sick of it.
What_IQ..I can appreciate where you are coming from but if you were to share with us the things you are doing to help those that are currently here…your comment would be more acceptable…..
