Florida historian says confederate inspired state flag needs to go

Since last week’s tragic shooting deaths of nine black churchgoers at the hands of an alleged white supremacist in Charleston, South Carolina, there has been growing outcry over public representations of the confederacy. Recently Representative Kathy Castor called for the statue of a confederate general to be removed from Florida’s section of the Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. Today we talk to Florida historian and author TD Allman, who says that the State Flag of Florida is a refashioned confederate battle flag with the state seal superimposed over it, and that its time we start looking for a replacement.
