On Saturday Vincent Bugliosi, prosecutor of the Manson family in the late 60s and author of several true crime bestsellers, died at the age of 80. Bugliosi wrote a first-hand account of the Manson trials in his 1974 book Helter Skelter, and called into question the legality of George W. Bush’s election to presidency in 2000 and his decision to invade Iraq in his books The Betrayal of America: How the Supreme Court Undermined the Constitution and Chose Our President, and The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder. We listen to an interview with Bugliosi from the Thom Hartmann Show, in which he discusses the documentary The Prosecution of an American President, based on his book on Bush’s accountability in the Iraq war.
