Many workers spanning industries from retail, food service, health care and academia make just above the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Health care benefits, vacation time and paid maternity leaves are often non-existent. Today we talk to four local workers who are advocating for an increase of the minimum wage to $15 an hour , as part of the national Fight for 15 campaign, which on March 31 called for a general worker strike on Wednesday April 15. Joining us are Mcdonalds employee Bleu Rainer, home health care worker MiAudras Harris,Childcare worker Nadaije Paul Jajoute, and St.Leo adjunct professor Cole Bellamy.
